People get attached to their pets, I know, I've had five generations of collies and it's always sad when they pass on. So I wasn't altogether surprised to be asked to preserve a much-loved 'best friend' for posterity in timber.
I never met Prisca, though she was still very much alive when this piece was made. I worked from photographs and measurements taken by her owner and in the end was assured that I managed a pretty fair likeness.
Prisca is no more, but she lives on in memory... and in polished elm.
