There are fifteen animals in this little 'dram table', and more leaves than I care to count, nearly all of them modelled on photographs taken by the client during a memorable Uganda safari trip. It was a pleasure to bring them to life in a way that allows the experience to be revisited daily … glass in hand.
The gorilla was particularly challenging, human-like faces are so familiar to us that we spot even the slightest of irregularities; the shoebill I think is slightly chilling despite, or perhaps because of, his smile, but I am especially fond of the colobus monkey … we could all wish to be so relaxed.
