ROLLS ROYCE

R O L L S   R O Y C E
This wasn’t the first carving work I ever did, but it does mark the first time I ever specifically bought carving tools and took it seriously.

It once formed part of the stair balustrade in the home of Henry Royce (yes, that one) and, when the building was demolished, was rescued and brought to me – but not before the contractor had taken an axe to it. The box of ‘bits’ was far from complete, notably the little boy cherub was missing. Here it is, restored and once again complete.
